JIS K2280 states “diesel fuel oil without Cetane improver indicates the equivalent value as Cetane number. However, Cetane index cannot be abstracted from diesel fuel oil with Cetane improver.” These is relatively an intimate correlation with petroleum-fuel.
Yes. However, JIS specification allows ethyl alcohol within 25%.
Measurements of alcohol concentration of 25% or more are for reference only.
Yes. However, in some cases, analysis is not possible because of a duplication of component depending on a type of alcohol.
JPI method is mainly used in Japan, and it reports saturates, Olefin content and aroma contents (mono-, di-, and ply aromatic [TRI+]).
On the other hand, IP method is mainly used in Europe, and it reports only aroma contents (mono-, di-, and ply aromatic [TRI+]).
There is a tendency of having correlation on data to some extent, but we may not be able to make determination sometimes depending on a difference of test material.

We might be able to determine a type of grease by infrared spectroscopy in some cases. Please contact us.
Determination can be performed with 5g of sample at the smallest, but in some cases, correlation cannot be obtained depending on a type of grease, compared with the determination using regular amount of sample. We recommend using the standard amount of sample of 300g for precise determination result.
